2015 is here and I’m ready for it! I did a lot of discovering in 2014 and know more about myself than I ever have. I have to say it’s so refreshing to know exactly who I am and I like it. God has built me to be an amazing woman with a passionate heart! I’m ready to see what He has in store for me this year and I believe He will be proud of my goals for 2015.
In December, I ordered the Well Designed Year by Whitney English. I used the Day Designer last year and I got introduced to the Well Designed Year through that. It has a lot of great discovery methods for finding your true self and living by it. I also like that she is rooted in the Lord. It was encouraging to go through it knowing Whitney is a fellow Christian. Her Well Designed Year has you set 15-18 goals. I’m not going to share all those here but I will share the ones that I think will impact my life the most. I also ordered Lara Casey’s Power Sheets to help me keep track of my goals.
My word for 2015 is INTENTIONAL. I want to be intentional about everything I do this year. Spiritually, Family, Friendships, Health & my Business.
Spiritual Goals: This year I want to read the bible. I have read bits and pieces of it but I haven’t read the entire book. This is the Word of God and I need to know it. I was talking to God a few weeks ago and I realized it’s a shame that I haven’t put the time into Him and His word that He deserves. I pictured myself meeting God for the first time and how awful I felt because I didn’t know His word. This year I am changing that. I found an app called She Reads Truth. Ladies!!!! Download this! It’s a bible app for women and it’s so encouraging. They have a plan to read the bible in 365 and it will track your progress. I am looking forward to what I am going to learn from reading the whole bible. This crosses over to parenting for me too, because I can’t teach something I don’t know.
Family Goals: I am going to be more intentional with the time that I have with my husband and daughter. I don’t want to lay on the couch every night after the little one goes to bed and just watch tv. I am going to enjoy that time with my husband more by playing games, doing puzzles (something he loves to do), talking and sometimes watching tv. I get Olivia to myself two days a week. I am no longer worrying about getting my errands done on these days. Instead, I signed us up for a mommy and me gymnastics class once a week! I am so excited to see her learn and explore! We will also go on bike rides together, she loves doing this with me and I want to build memories with her at the park, she always insists that we stop and play.
Friendship Goals: I am going to be intentional with my friendships this year. I have a large group of “friends” that I am connected to but I am not close with all of them. I love the community I’ve built of women but it is not realistic for me to have intimate friendships with all of them. I just don’t have the time for that and I don’t think God has built my heart this way. I crave deep intimate friendships where I can be raw and vulnerable with a few close girls. I haven’t focused on some friendship in the past year and I’ve noticed the difference! In 2015, I am going to pick a few girlfriends and intentional connect with them. Enjoy coffee or dinner dates, text or talk on the phone and celebrate our lives together. I am tired of using the excuse “I’m so busy!” Let’s be real here…If it’s important to you, you make the time. And this year, I am making the time.
Health Goals: I have been crossfitting for 4 years. It is one of the best things I ever started. It helped me get in shape to have a baby and it helped me loose the baby weight too. I didn’t focus on working out last year. This year I am committing to my health because I want to get pregnant again. In order to do this, I need to be healthy. I will be working out 3 times a week and eating paleo 90/10. When I focus on a healthy lifestyle my family reaps the benefits. I am happier and they are healthier too. Our bodies are a temple and it’s time I start treating it that way. The Holy Spirit lives in me and I want Him to be dwelling in a place of peace. My body is at peace when I eat well and exercise. I encourage you to think of your body as a temple.
Business Goals: This year, I am going to focus on bringing you content that is impactful. I am going to share my heart with you and there is more to it then just fashion. I hope you will enjoy going on this journey with me. God has opened my heart to embrace my business as a way to serve Him. This has steered me to embrace the new and with that I will be taking a new name…A Style Portrayed. I can’t wait for this project to officially launch! (Later this week)
2015 is going to be a great year! What are some goals you are working toward this year?
